2018 Dark Chocolate Bitter Brick, ripe puerh 250g

$55.00

2018 pressed using material from 2017.
Yuhao production of Rare Old Tea Head (laochatou). Made with Bulang and LaoMane. The LaoManE is overpowering here so you're in for an intense bitterness I associate with dark chocolate.

Very well might be my favorite Shou. Will be ordering more. Fast shipping, great packaging.

Nice shou! It's not as bitter as I expected from the name but there's a subtle bitterness and a definite dark chocolate note alongside camphor and earthy tastes. Thick mouthfeel too, and I didn't notice any wou dui/fermentation taste.

Brews dark as moonless night. Chocolate taste is present with excellent mouthfeel. Really enjoying this as a late morning/afternoon tea. Just great.

This is shou unlike anything you've experienced before. Dark, bitter, and full of chi. I didn't even like shou until I had this.

The dark bitter chocolate flavor is wonderful, and it lingers on the palate. I love bitterness, so this is not overpowering for me. Reminds me of a good single origin dark chocolate bar. Subdued wood, leather adding some complexity. Prominent tobacco notes developed in later steeps, intermingled with the dark chocolate.
