This year's smoke and mirrors is a huge let down. 2023's was probably my favorite tea of all time, but this one has almost no smell or flavor in it. I still have some of 2023 and when you taste both of these side to side, it is tough to imagine they are supposed to be the same thing. This is an ok black tea, but almost all the sweetness, smokiness, and caramel are gone from it. ;(

Caramel sweet, subtle smoke and a little coffee-like acidity. Light, sort-of milky mouthfeel. "Caramel macchiato" is right.

Fantastic! The tasting notes on this one are right on with "caramel machiatto". A distinct, sweet caramel flavor with a much more subtle smoke than many smoked teas. Very unique tea that had me going back to the shop to stock up for fall/winter brewing.
