2003 Xiaguan Teji, Real vs Fake Comparison

Sorry, this item has sold.

Long story short: Where money is to be made, there is probably fraud somewhere.
Dayi is not the only puerh cakes to be counterfeited... Xiaguan and many other companies are targets as well as the price of puerh increase for aged material, but the authenticity is not always easy to prove.

There have been many different 2003 Teji floating around from 'Xiaguan' but the reality is that a $30-$50 even to $100 version of this cake in my experience will be fake. Tracking down a real 2003 Xiaguan Teji wasn't too hard, but it takes a little research in regards to the wrapper size and nipples.

This set is here to provide a taste between the two. Ultimately, what you prefer is up to your taste buds. At the end of the journey a $30 faked version of a cake may be more enjoyable than a $300 authentic version. I'm not here to pass any judgement along, but to provide the ability to have these teas together to taste, smell, and see the difference in material.

Each listing is for 25g of the fake 2003 Teji and 20g of the real 2003 Teji

*Please note that iron cake do not break easily at all. Highly suggested that you have a puerh pick and understand that the look of the leaf will not be as aesthetically pleasing as others, but the end result of the brew keeps its integrity
